Conceptual Blending
From AGIRI.org
The Cognitive Process by which two or more Concepts are combined to form a new one.
There are particular sorts of heuristics commonly used in human minds for carrying out this operation, and many of these embody fundamental information-theoretic insights.
The details of and importance of conceptual blending have been discussed considerably in the Cognitive Science literature, e.g. in the book The Way We Think by Gilles Faulconier and Mark Turner.
