Global Brain
From AGIRI.org
A vision of a future mind unifying individual human minds into an intelligent global superorganism.
Apparently-paradoxically, this would not make us any less free than we are now, even though it would make us part of a greater intelligent whole.
Peter Russell, Francis Heylighen and Ben Goertzel (see the book Creating Internet Intelligence) are among theorists who have written extensively on this topic.
There was a Global Brain conference (GB0) in Brussels in 2001, co-organized by Heylighen and Goertzel.
